The Llano High School football team overwhelmed San Antonio Cole 37-0 Sept. 22 in the District 13-3A Division I opener for both teams. The Yellow Jackets (3-2, 1-0) now focus their attention on a road trip to Luling (2-3, 0-1)at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29. Llano seized control of the contest quickly, racing to a 14-0 advantage in the opening quarter that ballooned to 24-0 by the half. The Canyon Lake Hawks jumped out to a 13-0 lead early in the first quarter, but the fast-paced Veterans Memorial Patriots ended the game with a 50-43 win on Friday, Sept. 15, at Rutledge Stadium in San Antonio. Turnovers highlighted much of the first quarter with three fumbles and two interceptions, most of them going in favor of the Hawks.
