The Smoking For Jesus football team will welcome Bulverde Gloria Deo in the playoffs of the Texas Association of Independent Athletic Organizations at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at Wallace Riddell Park, 710 Northington St. in Burnet. It’s a rematch of a 36-34 Eagles (6-5, 3-0 district champions) victory Oct. 28. Senior Isaac Legier intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown to give the Eagles the lead. The Burnet High School girls soccer team’s historical march through the 2022 Class 4A playoffs continues thanks to a thrilling 3-2 double overtime win over undefeated Giddings in the regional quarterfinals on April 1. The Burnet High School girls soccer team made history on March 29 by advancing to the Class 4A regional quarterfinals, the third round of the postseason, for the first time in program history.
