The beginning of May means the start of 7-on-7 for football players, including in the Highland Lakes. Burnet High School is the site of a Division II state qualifying tournament at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 28. In addition, Burnet also is hosting a linemen’s challenge with competitions specifically designed for those who work in the trenches. Marble Falls pole vaulter Django Segovia will compete at the Class 5A state track meet after earning the wild card, which means he had the best vault among the four regional bronze medalists. The Marble Falls High School baseball team earned its first District 25-5A road win of the season en route to sweeping Georgetown East View April 26.
