Steve Golemon’s contributions to Texas high school sports are numerous, and organizations are making sure they aren’t quickly forgotten. The Llano High School cross country head coach and middle-distance track coach, who died Oct. 19, 2021, was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas June 11. The Llano varsity 7-on-7 football team posted a 1-2 record at the Taylor State Qualifying Tournament June 11, and head coach Matt Green noticed some common traits from the three qualifying tournaments. The Llano 7-on-7 football team has one more opportunity Saturday, June 11, to qualify for the state tournament, But the Yellow Jackets will have to win their pool and a semifinal game of the Taylor State Qualifying Tournament to do. The Marble Falls High School volleyball program is continuing to host weekly matches at Marble Falls Middle School with the only changes are on the day of the week and the addition of other teams.
