The Burnet High School boys soccer team beat Austin Travis 1-0 in the District 25-4A opener Jan. 14. The lone goal was scored by Genesis Ceron on a deflection on the Bulldogs’ first free kick of the night. Head coach Benjamin Boorman indicated the Bulldogs had numerous opportunities to add more. “We had so many chances,” he said. The Burnet High School girls basketball team defeated Jarrell 46-43 Jan. 14. The victory puts the Lady Dawgs (12-14, 3-1) in a three-way tie for first in District 24-4A with Salado (16-11, 3-1) and the Lady Cougars (22-6, 3-1).
