The Burnet High School girls basketball team will face China Spring at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Copperas Cove High School for a bi-district championship. It’s a rematch of the season opener Nov. 5. Burnet boys soccer continues march through district

The Burnet High School boys soccer team defeated Florence 12-2 Jan. 23 after tying Austin Eastside Memorial 2-2 Jan. 17. In the regular season finale against Florence, Burnet prevailed 2-1. “Last year the Buffalos were making strides during the season,” head coach Benjamin Boorman said. Hill Country Elite finishes 2nd at Canadian event

The Hill Country Elite was the runner-up at the Battle on the Prairies tournament in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada Jan. 11-14. The Elite defeated 14U Manitoba Selects 19-6 in its opener and 13U Saskatchewan Selects 20-0 and lost to the Alberta Golden Bears A 24-8 in the championship. Down 16-8, the Elite reached the Golden Bears’ six-yard line. A dropped pass on the four-yard line ended the drive. Burnet boys soccer beats Travis in district opener

The Burnet High School boys soccer team beat Austin Travis 1-0 in the District 25-4A opener Jan. 14. The lone goal was scored by Genesis Ceron on a deflection on the Bulldogs’ first free kick of the night.
