Burnet boys soccer beats Travis in district opener

The Burnet High School boys soccer team beat Austin Travis 1-0 in the District 25-4A opener Jan. 14. The lone goal was scored by Genesis Ceron on a deflection on the Bulldogs’ first free kick of the night. Head coach Benjamin Boorman indicated the Bulldogs had numerous opportunities to add more. “We had so many chances,” he said.   He pointed out that Hector Arredondo and Marco Campos “controlled the midfield and fed Miguel Valdez and Genesis Ceron into Travis’ territory all night.”  Boorman commended Burnet’s defense, which was exceptional.…

Burnet boys soccer competes through freezing temperatures at tourney

The Burnet High School boys soccer team went 1-2 at the Manor tournament last weekend. The Bulldogs beat Columbus 2-0 thanks to goals from Miguel Valdez and Ricardo Flores.
