Read your story on the bond, great story but do you think it will be worth it?

Depends on a number of factors, primarily how well MFISD makes known their why for the bond. What it is the Community Advisory Committee recommends be built & if voters agree? There are sports fans out there who say some facilities should be reserved primarily for universities & the pros. Others will say it's long overdue. My personal experience? Everyone in south Burnet County is in favor of building sports facilities (the infamous sports complex of the mid 2010s) as long as only one city is financially responsible for paying for it. And the reason why is because that one city will reap the hotel occupancy taxes & the sales tax that comes from dining & buying things at convenient stores & grocery stores. But residents of that city push back because they believe they can't afford the tax increase.

It is interesting to note that Dr. Gasaway told me that bond money comes from the INS & that if MFISD board members choose to ask voters to approve the bond, there will not be a tax increase.

How do you think this will benefit the players and coaches?

@highland_lakes_sports_fan -- I think we can all agree that people like new, especially players. That's why you see universities build facilities that some reporters say are better than what owners of pro teams have built. But do I know that for certain? No. I do plan on writing a series of stories to ask that question after MFISD releases what the Community Advisory Committee has recommended.
