More Marble Falls players step up in making most of opportunities

The absence of a top starter for the Marble Falls High School volleyball team meant other Lady Mustangs had the chance to shine during the Warrior Showcase in San Antonio Aug. 19-20. And they did, said head coach Kait Goertz. “We played in six matches,” she said. “We saw improvement from one match to the next. It’s hard when you’re running a different lineup and missing a key starter. They started communicating and compensating for the adjustments they had to make. Marble Falls Lady Stangs win in straight sets for first time since 2018

Marble Falls High School head volleyball coach Kait Goertz has maintained her Lady Mustangs are much improved this season than at any other time she has been at the helm. Marble Falls volleyball has arsenal of new ways to score

For weeks, Marble Falls High School head volleyball coach Kait Goertz has been saying this 2022 team is different from the ones that stepped out on the court in the past. A big reason is because of the preparation the Lady Mustangs put in months earlier leading up to the season opener against Kyle Lehman Aug. 9 that has led to a confidence the players now have. And though Marble Falls (0-1) lost to the Lady Lobos 19-25, 22-25, 10-25, Goertz said she saw plenty of positives that reinforced what…
