After 23 years of service to Burnet Consolidated Independent School District, athletic director Kurt Jones said he is retiring from public education at the end of the 2023-24 school year. “It’s 100 percent my decision,” he said. “My wife and family and I have been talking about it for a little while. On the October weekend Burnet senior swimmer Ryan Behrens visited McMurry University and was offered a scholarship, he committed.
