Several Burnet softball players named to all-district teams

District 19-4A coaches selected several Burnet High School softball players to all-district teams, Lady Dawgs head coach Hailey Wooten announced. First team all-district Lady Dawgs are Savannah Gomez, McKenzie Davis and Lanee McCurry. Wooten noted district coaches saw these three come through at crucial times throughout the district season. “Savannah hit nearly .500 in district,” the coach said. “Lanee got a base hit in almost every district game. Faith Academy athletics adds more milestones to banners

Saying the Faith Academy of Marble Falls athletics department experienced a banner year in 2021-22 doesn’t begin to describe the success. The Flames were undefeated in district play en route to titles in football, basketball, baseball and track and field. They repeated as the Class 2A state track and field champions. Despite ending, Faith Academy softball accomplishes plenty

The Faith Academy of Marble Falls softball team’s season ended in a 26-2 loss to district foe Pflugerville Concordia May 10. The Lady Flames made a change in the lineup when sophomore pitcher Jaedyn Hart was unavailable to play. Hart has thrown the majority of the innings during the season. Edwards wanted Marble Falls coaching hires to help students succeed in all phases

Rick Edwards did more than repeat the Marble Falls Independent School District’s motto of having an unyielding commitment to loving every child — he lived it. An unexpected loss not by the Burnet High School softball team caused an unexpected play-in game for the final District 19-4A playoff spot. Following a 10-0 loss to Lake Belton April 19, the Lady Dawgs (4-6) found out that Georgetown Gateway (4-6) outlasted Taylor 3-1. Bad weather April 12 forced the Burnet High School softball team to play in back-to-back contests April 13-14 where the Lady Dawgs got different results.
