The Marble Falls High School cheer squad showed once more why it is one of the best in the state thanks to earning numerous awards at the Universal Cheerleaders Association Cheer Camp July 23-26. The Marble Falls High School weight room was so crowded that visitors had to be careful with every step and willing to turn and twist to avoid bumping into athletes who are participating in voluntary strength-and-conditioning workouts. The four-person cheer squad of Hill Country Stars Cheer and Dance did what some thought was impossible — win the All-Star World Championship on April 21-22 in Orlando, Florida. The squad includes Morgan Burke and Alyssa Tamaseu, both of Marble Falls, and Laramie McIntire and Haley Booe, both of Granite Shoals. Five Marble Falls High School cheerleaders were named to the all-state team of the Texas Girls Coaches Association recently, while seven seniors made the academic all-state team. Hill Country Stars Cheer and Dance is sending its four-person cheer squad to the senior open pom division at the All-Star World Championships at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, on April 21-23.
