Three 2023 Burnet and Marble Falls high school graduates did more than hold their own during the all-star game of the Austin Area Baseball Coaches Association June 11 at Dell Diamond. They are Braden Ellett-Clark and Tanner O’Hair of Burnet and Cale Cochran of Marble Falls. The trio helped the North team defeat the South team 4-2. Marble Falls athletes are committing themselves to summer workouts

Championships are won in the offseason. That was said by Pat Summit, the legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach, right after the Lady Vols won one of their eight national titles. She commended her players for staying in Knoxville during the summer to work toward their championship. In many ways, that’s what’s happening with athletes at Marble Falls Independent School District. Strength and conditioning coordinator Richard Scales said he’s been pleased with the attendance, noting 75 high school and 45 middle school students are attending from 7-9 a.m. Monday-Thursday.…

Burnet’s Kade Shaw has ‘surreal’ day at the plate

Burnet High School senior Kade Shaw had a great day at the ballpark playing for the Austin Wings 17-and-under summer select baseball team. On June 9, Shaw went hit three home runs in three plate appearances, and one was a grand slam. He did it against Up Top from Dallas during The Opener tournament.
