Marble Falls Faith Academy’s Mottle signs to play college baseball

Faith Academy of Marble Falls senior Justin Mottle proved that he was right on time in signing his National Letter of Intent May 12 to play baseball for East Texas Baptist University, which is a member of the American Southwest Conference. Faith Academy baseball dominates all-district honors

After going unbeaten during the district season and capturing the program’s first district title, coaches honored the Faith Academy of Marble Falls baseball players by naming two as the district co-most valuable players and other starters to the first and second teams. Flames head coach Zakk Revelle noted it was unusual for one team to produce district co-MVPs but understood why it happened. He noted that coaches are presented lists of players complete with statistics. But because pitchers Justin Mottle (2-0), a senior, and Kade Shaw (4-0), a sophomore, each…

Two timely hits lead to the Bulldogs’ baseball season ending

As Burnet High School head baseball coach Russell Houston observed game three of a bi-district series between his Bulldogs and La Grange May 7, he gave a prediction to his assistants of the way the contest would play out. “The first team that scores first will win,” he said. The lead-off batter got on thanks to a single and the next batter…
