Burnet powerlifters earn plaque from Llano meet
The Burnet High School powerlifting teams competed in two meets in five days recently.
The Bulldogs lifted at the Georgetown East View Quad Feb. 6, and both teams competed at the Llano Invitational Feb. 1.
The Bulldogs finished third in the teams standings in Llano, while the Lady Dawgs were fourth.
Tommy Butler paced the Bulldogs by winning his weight class, while Halle Maxwell led the Lady Dawgs by winning her weight class.
“We had multiple lifters place in the top five of their weight classes, earning team points and medals,” head coach Tyler McIntosh said. “Coach (Zane) Hicks and myself are extremely proud of how our athletes competed and look forward to seeing them improve over the next few weeks.”
Because the East View meet drew four teams, officials did not award team or individual awards.
Burnet will compete at the San Saba Invitational Thursday, Feb. 15.
