The Marble Falls High School track and field program is hosting its annual Mustang Relays Thursday, Feb. 27.

The meet will include teams representing Burnet, Florence, Fredericksburg, Lago Vista, Lampasas, San Antonio Davenport and Taylor.

The meet will have boys varsity and junior varsity and girls varsity and junior varsity divisions.

The first running event, the 3,200 meters, will begin at 12:30 p.m. First on the track is the girls junior varsity race followed by the girls varsity, the boys junior varsity and boys varsity.

Among the expected runners are Graham Goggans, Owen Martin and Tyler Hamblin of Marble Falls and Victor Aviles and Gustavo Vega of Burnet.

At 1 p.m., the field events begin. Marble Falls senior Kylie Roberts and sophomore Madison Cuplin, who both qualified for the Class 4A Region III meet last year, are back. Roberts will participate in both throwing events, while Cuplin will long jump.

The Mustangs and Lady Mustangs have two pits for every field event except the pole vault. Each pit will be designated for the junior varsity and the other for the varsity.

Running races begin at 3:30 p.m., and each race is a final. Each running event will follow the same format: girls junior varsity, girls varsity, boys junior varsity and boys varsity.

The sprinters in the boys races include Noah Crawford, Khris Kassner, Cason O’Hair and Braxton Ringstaff of Burnet, Kenneth Reed of Lampasas, Andrias Fisher of Taylor and Joaquin Aguilar, David Dominguez, Brody Graham and Connor Yaklin of Marble Falls.

Female sprinters are Nashla Crott and Reese Massey of Marble Falls and Brogan Fox, Wrigley Mulhollan, Savannah Myers and Asah Roy of Burnet.

Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event and team trophies also will be given.
