The Marble Falls High School girls soccer team lost to Killeen Chaparral 2-1 Jan. 24.

“They fought hard the entire time,” head coach Marisa Miller said.

Junior Dulce Macias scored the Lady Mustangs’ goal thanks to an assist from freshman defender Jill Cole in the first half for a 1-1 tie.

Chaparral scored what turned out to be the winning goal 30 seconds into the second half.

“We just weren’t ready,” Miller said. “We have to be ready for all 80 minutes of a game.”

The coach said the team is looking for more from one particular part from the team.

“We have to be more consistent at the top and get the ball in the goal,” she said.

The pre-district schedule isn’t easy, she added, and is serving its purpose of showing the Lady Mustangs where they can be better.

“It’ll make us more prepared for district,” Miller said.

Marble Falls travels to Gatesville Tuesday, Jan. 28, for a varsity only match at 4:30 p.m.
