The Marble Falls Independent School District’s football program is hosting its Mustang Passing Academy Monday-Thursday, May 27-30, from 6-8 p.m.

The camp, which is at The Corral at Mustang Stadium, is geared toward rising second-ninth graders. Cost is $60.

It’s the second camp the program is hosing this month.

“The big thing is it gets kids in the community excited about things we’re starting to do,” head coach Keri Timmerman said. “It gives us a chance to get them excited. It lays the foundation of what we’re teaching.”

Campers will experience the base part of Timmerman’s passing offense complete with terminology. The introduction to the scheme is invaluable, he said, because of the learning curve. It also allows youngsters to learn the proper mechanics of playing quarterback and receiver.

Timmerman said he’s been enjoying hearing the middle school athletes who play 7-on-7 say familiar words during the games.

“You start building a program,” he said.
