Burnet girls soccer on course to repeat as district champs
The Burnet High School girls soccer team continues to roll through District 25-4A.
The Lady Dawgs (14-4-2, 8-0) have allowed three goals in eight district matches. Meanwhile, they have scored 54 goals during that time span.
The latest drubbing came against Florence where Burnet won 9-1 Feb. 20. Amelia Griffin scored a hat trick and recorded an assist. Brook Oliva, Kaycie Banton and Julie Suazo each scored 2 goals. Oliva also had 3 assists, while Taylor Petty and Banton each had 2, and Reagan Shipley finished with 1.
The defending district champions welcome Jarrell Friday, Feb. 23, to Bulldog Field with the varsity playing at 4 p.m. and the varsity following.
“These girls are fun to watch, and we hope to see you,” head coach Kimberly Myhre said. “The weather is supposed to be nice, and we would love to have the stands full with green.”
