The Marble Falls Middle School coaches are hosting a Meet, Greet and Eat gathering at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. The event will have free hot dogs, chips and water at the middle school cafeteria. At 6:30 p.m., a parent meeting will begin. The middle school has two new athletic coordinators this year. The Burnet High School volleyball team defeated Blanco 27-25, 26-28, 25-18, 21-25, 15-12 Aug. 13 to begin the 2024 season. Head coach Crystal Shipley noted the Lady Dawgs (1-0) “started a little shaky, still getting used to playing with each other.” “They are a scrappy, defensive team and they get after it,” she said. “They were able to seal the first win of the season in a long, five-set battle.
