The Marble Falls High School football team crushed Austin Crockett 56-0 in the season opener for both teams Aug. 30. The Mustangs (1-0) were led to victory by junior quarterback Doak Timmerman, who scored five of the team’s eight touchdowns. “We got great offense and we shut them out,” he said. “Great defense. The Marble Falls High School cross country teams competed at the Austin Westlake Chaparral Invitational Aug. 23. “I think we were the only Class 4A school there,” head coach Brenda Gonzalez said. “They had 250-plus runners.” Senior Tyler Hamblin paced the Mustangs by finishing the course in 16 minutes and 3.30 seconds for ninth in the boys varsity standings.
