Canales named Marble Falls girls basketball, golf head coach

Marble Falls Independent School District announced that Adley Canales is the new girls basketball and lone golf head coach for the 2024-25 school year. Canales was the co-head golf coach with Lonnie Tackitt and was the Lady Mustangs varsity assistant coach on John Berkman’s staff during the 2023-24 school year. Berkman became the Marble Falls boys basketball head coach April 24. Canales, who hails from Kingsville, has been on staff at the school district for seven years. Marble Falls football hosts Friday Night Lights camp

The Marble Falls Independent School District football program is offering several opportunities for youngsters to learn more about the sport. The first is the Friday Night Lights camp for children in Kindergarten-sixth grade May 10 at The Corral at Mustang Stadium. For those starving for some football, Highland Lakes high school programs are offering an appetizer. The Burnet Bulldogs will host their annual 7-on-7 league at 5 p.m. Monday, May 6, 13 and 20, at Bulldog Field. Llano and Marble Falls will participate. Each team will play two games weekly. The divisions are for rising eighth-graders, freshmen, junior varsity and varsity.
