The Faith Academy of Marble Falls athletic department announced a promotion and a hire for two head coaching positions.
Jay Silvers is the new head coach after serving as the defensive coordinator under former head coaches John Hallum and Stephen Shipley.
Harvey Vaughn is the new girls basketball head coach after Kat Canada resigned to focus on her family.
The changes were announced by Faith Academy athletic director Zakk Revelle.
Silvers is moving to offensive coordinator and hired Garrett Cole as the new defensive coordinator.
“There’s no process of building for a coach,” Revelle said.
Vaughn is a familiar face to Faith families after serving Jerry English’s staff almost a decade ago. Vaughn has been at Round Rock Christian for eight years, serving as the Lady Crusaders head coach.
“He decided to step down,” Revelle said. “He’s moving to Burnet. Harvey reached out. It’s neat the way it worked out. We get him back on our side.”
The athletic director was grateful to Hallum for the year he gave the academy.
“We were thankful for coach Hallum,” he said.
The football staff isn’t quite done with hiring.
“We’re looking to hire one more person to help with football,” Revelle said.
