The Burnet High School football team travels to play at La Vernia at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, for the 2023 season opener. Bear Stadium is located at 221 San Antonio Road in La Vernia. The Bulldogs beat Bears the 36-25 last year to hand them one of their losses. La Vernia finished the season with a 9-3 record and reached the second round of the Class 4A Division I playoffs. The Faith Academy of Marble Falls football team will host Bulverde Gloria Deo at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Britton Field on the Faith campus.
