The Burnet High School volleyball team continues its march through the District 24-4A season with another straight set win against an opponent Sept. 30. This one came at the expense of the Marble Falls Lady Mustangs with the Lady Dawgs winning 25-19, 25-16, 25-12. Burnet has not defeated long-time rivals Llano, Lampasas and Marble Falls all in the same season.

The Burnet subvarsities also beat the Marble Falls subvarsities.

“It was an exciting, fun night with a great crowd,” Burnet head coach Crystal Shipley said. “Our student section is simply the best, and they mean business. Thank you to all those who came and supported our girls.”

The Lady Dawgs (18-11, 3-0) will welcome Georgetown Gateway (15-6, 3-0) in a battle to decide first place in the district standings. The subvarsities play at 5 p.m., while the varsity follows. During the time between the subvarsity and varsity match, the volleyball program will recognize its middle school teams.
