After going unbeaten during the district season and capturing the program’s first district title, coaches honored the Faith Academy of Marble Falls baseball players by naming two as the district co-most valuable players and other starters to the first and second teams. Burnet junior middle-distance runner Hudson Bennett showed once more why he is the best two-mile runner in Class 4A. The defending state champion earned another state gold medal at the Class 4A state meet May 12 to go with his 2021 gold medal. He completed eight laps in 9 minutes 22.86 seconds to break the school record by 10 seconds and set a new personal best. Two athletes did plenty for the Smoking for Jesus Ministry Christian School’s boys track-and-field team during the the state meet of the Texas Association of Independent Athletic Organizations May 7. Senior Charles Frazier and junior Jonathan Frazier, who are brothers, had top four finishes in four events to propel the Eagles to another state trophy to go with their back-to-back state championships in football in 2020 and 2021 and the one state title in boys basketball during the 2021-22 season.
