After advancing to a regional tournament for the first time in the history of its program, several members of Burnet High School girls soccer team were selected for several individual awards by District 18-4A coaches. Sophomore Amelia Griffin was named the district’s most valuable player, while sophomore Kaycie Banton took the silver boot award for the most assists in district that totaled 18. Granite FC Elite, a soccer team featuring players who are under the age of 15, won the South Texas Cup championship April 9-10, which advances the squad to the South Texas Cup Finals at the end of the month. Granite FC finished the South Texas Cup with a 3-0 record.
